LANSING – State Representative Andrew Kandrevas (D-Southgate) was sworn in to his first term in the Michigan House of Representatives today during a ceremony at the State Capitol marking the beginning of the 95th Legislature.
"I am extremely honored to serve as the voice of our community in Lansing, and I'm eager to get to work on the issues that matter most," said Kandrevas, who represents the 13th House District, which includes Southgate, Wyandotte, Riverview and Trenton. "I will work hard every day to bring more good-paying jobs to our area and stop the jobs we have from being outsourced. I will also fight to make sure our schools have the resources they need to prepare our children to compete for the best-paying jobs in today's global economy. I am committed to making our community a better place to live, work, do business and raise a family."
Kandrevas encourages residents to contact his office if he or his staff can be of any assistance, or if they have any comments, concerns or ideas to share.
Kandrevas' legislative director is Adrienne Hagon, who grew up in Riverview and has a bachelor's degree in political science from Eastern Michigan University. Hagon worked for former 13th District Representative Barb Farrah, who left the House because of term limits, for more than three years. Kandrevas' legislative assistant is Hannah Bobee, a University of Michigan-Dearborn graduate from Garden City who also has a degree from the Michigan State University College of Law. Bobee will focus on constituent services.
